What is egg freezing?

More and more women are considering freezing their eggs as a way of helping to make sure that when they’re ready to start a family, they have the best possible chance of conceiving.

Biologically, the best time for women to have children is before their fertility begins to decline, which is in their early thirties. But that’s not the right time for many women. So some choose to freeze their eggs so that they can try for children later on.

Egg freezing is a way of preserving your fertility. Individual eggs are collected and frozen, giving you the possible option of using those eggs to start a family at a later time.

The younger you are when egg freezing is done, the higher the chances of having a baby from using frozen eggs. This is because age influences fertility but the egg freezing process itself does not. An optimum age range for egg freezing is around 25-35.
